2004 Cadillac XLR

I'd much prefer a Audi A4 Cabriolet
The only comparable aspect to the A4 is that they are both convertables 😛

This car is meant to compete with cars like the Mercedes SL

do you honestly think that car can even compete with the SL series ?
i highly doubt it.
the newer ones just blew me away.

Audi A4 3.0 Cabriolet is like 45-50g's ?
Interior is beautiful
Outside is beautiful

What more can you ask for 😉

I step in the right direction along with the CTS..that new SRX sedan looks pretty sweet too.
Personally i'd dish out another 10g's for the SL- but quite honestly if I had 75-100k to spend on a car neither of these would be in my radar screen.

an american car

An american nameplate doesn't always mean it's an "american car" built by "American labor"
When you have civics being built by UAW workers and hemis being built in mexico, you know that we're looking at a whole different marketplace.

320hp, RWD, hard top, proportions that don't scream "CHICK CAR".

Why can't Caddy just get out business, so I can feel safe knowing I won't ever see one of those fugly mofos on the road

All the new Caddys look the same, fugly as $hit that is.

The TT yes ... the A4 .. I really don't see it screaming chick car..
I rather have something that looks better both interior and exterior wise.. than something that just has mere power.

i'm really starting to like the new "science and art" combo thing that cadillac is doing with their designs now. i'm assuming this model (based on the price) is more to compete with Mercedes SL500 rather than a lower class A4 Cabriolet though, right?

Thanks for the laugh, this is going to out-perform the SL500, which already costs $10k more.

Why would you be so compelled to buy a car for $10k more that not only doesn't out-perform the Cadillac, but also ranks lower in Initial quality rankings Caddy #2 - Benz #10+?)

It's a convertible not a friggin race car
Gee whoop it's gonna beat it by that much in 0-60

I'd rather have this beautiful thing for 10k more.. if i was in a market for a convertible at that price

1/4 Miles, you're looking at about a .7 sec difference (14.4 - 15.1 I believe, but don't have my C&D near to verify). I can't remember 0-60, but that .7 sec difference in the quarter is HUGE. It all comes down to what you can get for the money.. and in the performance aspect (which I care about) definately goes to the XLR.

If you're judging cars strictly on performance why not buy a Z06 which is cheaper and performs better?
If I was arrogant enough to drive one of these two cars I'd probably buy one every few years. The resale on a SL500 would be significantly higher than on tha XLR.
