It has power windows, locks, mirrors, cd, allow wheels only 70k. It looked great and drove quite nice, it'll be my "first" car which I own. Wasn't too speedy but its only a 2.0.
Anyways, the fuel cap light is on, and I thought it was a leak or bad fuel cap?
Would ford warranty still cover this? There was also oil around the valve cover? Is that common for this model, or something is going on here LOL
Otherwise it looked fantastic, and only 4600 ; )
Anything I should look out for?

it's a decent car but it's not exactly a bargain. i believe post-02' foci have their fuel pump issue resolved so it should be fine.

The valve cover gasket on my 02 Focus SE started leaking oil at ~20,000 miles. Not sure if this is a design flaw or it was not installed properly. You can purchase a gasket at any of the auto stores, like Advance Auto. Very easy to install. I have about 95,000 mile on it now. Other than replacing normal maintenance and wear parts, no problems.
Use Edmunds and KBB to get an estimate as to what the car is worth.

That seems a little high for that, I have an 03 SE sedan with similar milage everything but the sunroof and its only worth 4k tops.
Some of the 03's still had the SPI, of the two the zetec is the better motor, just make sure the timing belt has been changed already no matter what motor it has in it.

Yeah its a zetec, but hmm i think 4600 is a good deal, she wont work with me on the taxes though : (.
Anyways I should be getting it today, it still has the stock radio, as I might replace that soon.

Minor oil leak from the valve cover isn't anything to worry about, it probably just needs a new PCV valve.

Looks to be an ok deal. Ask what maintenance has been done besides oil changes. If none make sure to change the fuel filter. Those motors are reliable. Manual transmission?

It may fall under the 7 year 75K emissions warranty, check owners manual or call Ford. OH and pvc valve will be under the emission warranty too if its bad as well. I cant tell you how many people that think once a car is out of bumper to bumper thats pretty much it. Lots of parts are covered under a different warranty and can be warranted for some upto 10/100k, if you take the time to read your manual before you take it to Joe Blow auto repair, as he takes your car to stealership to get fixed for free and charges you 100% for a repair that cost him gas to the stealer.

Restraint, emissions, powertrain all pretty much have a separate extended warranty past bumper to bumper, you just gotta read.

Just picked it up, and wow did it have some issues.
First right off the bat, I got an oil change! Didn't know if it needed one but its a necessary thing on the to do list. Second the wind shield wiper pump is dead or not working..dunno
Door handle broke off, a WTF moment, as I think im bringing it to ford tmo to fix it, How much do you think?
Front two tires are bald, getting those replaced tom as well.
Otherwise its pretty good, driver side door is kinda dented so road noise is noticeable when radio is off. But man is car a sleeper, don't know if its an issue or just a "feature" It idles so low, down to the resting point, and when it needs more power it just revs itself...
Now could this be a feature? LOL
Anyways it runs great, those are petty issues comparing to major issues, which have yet to exist : )
Hmmm thats about it, the guy before me owned it put fiberglass bumpers and side skirts, nothing too fancy, nothing ricey either. The exaust has a nice deep sound, pretty sweet. Anyways ford dealership tmo, already put 120+ into the damn thing, it better pay back ;)
o and i got the fuel cap replaced, got the code cleared, and it has yet to come back on
