2003 Yukon XL won't start.Key not in the igntn. but the temp meter needle is bouncing

Unplug the sensor and see if it stops. There are usually 2 on the engine, one for the gauge, and one for the computer. Usually the gauge sensor just has one wire.
 
Does it crank, but not start? If so, hold the pedal to the floor while cranking it and see if it starts.
 
Had a similar problem with my wifes Monte Carlo SS. The positive battery cable was loose. Tightened it up and everything was fine.
 
It's one of those batteries with the side screw in terminals. One was super coroded. Battery is almost 5 yrs. old and needed to be replaced anyways.
