Infiniti's new G35
The 2003 Infiniti G35 high-performance sedan has rear-wheel drive and is powered by a 3.5-liter V-6. It is based on Nissan's new Skyline, which is marketed in Japan. The G35's styling is influenced by themes displayed on Infiniti's flagship, the Q45, and the XVL concept car. Sales begin next spring.

here's a pic: http://www.autonews.com/html/main/art/g35.gif

Might give the IS300 a run for it's money. :)

The Skyline started out as a performance sedan. I'm disappointed, but not surprised in what they're doing with it.

We just need a VSpec R34 over here and I'll be sedated :)

What bland piece of road kill. I crap out better-looking things that! And the front end looks like the equally ugly Lexus SC430.

Oddly called the Skyline in Japan?

When we American's think of the Skyline, we immediately think of the 'r' series like the Skyline GT-R. There is however other 'base' models of the Skyline in the 'v' series. In other words, the Skyline isn't just a sports car in Japan, they have almost an entirely different car (well I guess it's the same chassis) for sedan purposes named the Skyline. The Infiniti G35 is in essence the v35 in Japan. Now how about bringing the damn 'r' series over Infiniti?

And yes, the new styling is ass. I love the r34 styling. Wish they would just bring that over, computer problems and all...

I won't say its pretty... I think it will look much better in person like a WRX or the new Q45. Still looks better than a PT Cruiser :p

That last picture looks like a Toyota MR-S Spyder front end mated to a Lexus GS..

Hmmm Prontospyder, you right, that Skyline doesn't look bad at all... really reminds me of the GS for some reason. Probably the side profile. But still, it's not the brutal looking car like the r32-r34 series. Loved the box like image!

This car was called the I35 in one of the new issues of R&T or MT or C&D. Hopes this puts some pressure on Honda to drop in their 3.5L engine in the TL or at least to give the 3.2TL type S DOHC heads. Imagine a 3.5L TL type S!!!

if you've seen the numbers you know that acura's 3.5 is a dog, and is arguably no improvement over the 3.2 S engine. it makes a lot less power, and about the same torque but 700 rpm less. personally i'd like to see honda make an 8 for the RL, but vtec won't help an 8 out much since the torque curve is already a plateau and the rpm range isn't that large due to physics. honda really knows how to make small engines, but i dunno about large ones.

and damn near anything could whip an IS. the TL S is less expensive and quite a bit faster. plus you can actually fit 4 people and a good amount of their stuff in it.

True, I'm a big fan of the TL-S, but even though it will beat most cars such as the IS on the straightaways, the IS will outhandle the TL-S. Personally, I'd jump on a better handling car than a faster car. Not many places in the U.S. where you can just go fast on a straightaway without getting a ticket. Then again, in terms of overall utility, the TL is much larger, more luxurious and outhandles the IS in snow.
