robdls: Dude, just go to a dealer, it can't be that hard... (unless you're under 16). No sense committing fraud on an already hot deal.

Got my 2nd brochure today (hmm wonder if i should have used a different name). Heh. will be returning to another dealer and getting this one signed. Hey ford owes me. I just spent over $20k for a ford truck (hmm think i can get enough $75 cards to pay it off? heh) . I'm a "gm" only buyer but liked the features on this truck and decided to give ford a try (i'm a trader i guess). Hate to gripe about them and never have owned a ford. kinda like the people who complain about whos president yet never took the time to put there vote in. You don't vote, well then you got nothing to complain about. Anyways, everyone in my family is getting one from my brother to my dog. Oh wait he can't drive, guess i'll just take the test drive for him, get the money and maybe buy him a bone.

Hey just wanted to throw out an FYI for all of you considering buying a Ford using the X, Z, or A plan. Those plans give you a discount off of the options or upgrades you get on the car not off of the base model cost (or very little at least). For example I bought a 2002 Ford Taurus on the A plan for $19,000. It's actual sticker price was $25k. It was completely loaded, leather, cd, moonroof, everything, and the big engine. I got it for just under the base model cost. So if your going to buy a Ford on a discount plan get one that is LOADED because in the end it will end up costing you the same as a base model.

Bought a Focus on the X plan for a family member and the savings was only $800. I am sure that I could have done better with a lost leader type deal. The savings increases with the value of the car due to profit margins. The savings are huge on an Excursion.

Arg! I sent the postcard today and a few hours later I just remembered that I don't think I checked the box indicating what gift I want. Man I hope I didn't loose my $75 here. Anyway to fix this? Perhaps calling them letting them know what I want so when they receive it to send out my request? What will they send if you don't check any boxxes? Is that golf club any good? Anyone get that and know the model of it or something about it so I can see what they go for in case I can't get a hold of the rebate place and they send me the putter?

I got mine in 5 weeks....damned fine for Internet purchases (nothing like a closed-end Credit Card 😀....let's see some hacker enjoy those numbers baby!)

Naw mind was dated some time next yr to be mailed by. I checked on that when I received it. Just didn't remember to check the box specifying what i wanted.

I thought this was valid until the end of January 2003 or while supplies last?

Straight from the very bottom of the card included in the brochure:

Offer valid through 03/15/03. Please allow six to eight weeks for delivery. This offer is nontransferable.
Only one gift per person. Ford Division reserves the right to substitute any offer for another item of equal value.

BTW, the card offers me the choice of either:

-a K2 Transfer Bag
-a TaylorMade Putter
-OR a $75 Ford Debit MasterCard

Guess which one I'm goin' for... 😉

Not a bad deal to test drive a vehicle in the range of what we may be looking for in the near future anyways. The "$50 for the Aztec" deal on the other hand... :frown:

I just received my brochure today...got three of them today for my fam and I...also my 3rd card since I have 3 households to send to. Went to dealership today and the guy was great and filled it out no prob. No test drive needed for all of mine thus far (tho I did drive once for fun). Also got my Aztek test drive cert yesterday and that was filled out no prob too (w/o test drive). Have never had any hassle with these, I just tell them I'm not in the market for a SUV and I don't want to waste their time (might help that I'm a girl, hehe, who knows). These are great to buy groceries with, free food for a poor college kid, woohoo 😉

the certificate was in the brochure it was a post card to be filled out by ford sales person code #,name of dealer and signed bysales person and mailed in by you. ours came really fast i opted for the $75.00 debit card

I mailed mine in less than 2 weeks ago and got my $75.00 mastercard today, I was like WTF? I didnt apply for a ford mastercard....oh! Cool!

I didnt even have to do the test drive 😀

I don't know. Send me your $75 gift card and I'll confirm if it's legitimate or not. 😉

On a semi-related note, I received a package in the mail from Pontiac the other day. Pontiac will give me a $50 American Express gift check if I take a Pontiac Aztek for a test drive. Granted, this is not as hot of a deal as the Expedition gift card was, and I'd be faced with the following:

1) Being seen in an Aztek during broad daylight. :Q

2) Having the Aztek break down during the test drive and me having to stand beside it. :Q

3) Having to tell the salesperson that the thing is so fugly that I'd rather not be seen in it, but would he/she just sign my card? :Q

4) Actually taking the beast for a test drive - and building up the salesperson's hopes that I slightly like the vehicle ... only to tell him/her how fugly it is once they've signed my card. :Q

Decisions ... Decisions ...

For the others out there who received something in the mail from Pontiac, what exactly was it? I ordered a brochure for the Aztec and didn't receive anything in the mail w/ the $50 offer. I also called a dealer and they knew nothing about it. Can someone help me out as to how to get this deal as well? You can email me at kperry@spatialfocus.com if you'd prefer.

Thanks!
