Anyone have any idea how to remove the stereo from a 2003 civic? I have been looking online and the best I can find is a 2001, which has a different center console, so you cant do what it says there.
Here's how, pretty much:
1. Using a thin object like a knife, pry off the piece of plastic above the cupholder that frames the cigarette lighter. It will pop loose. Disconnect the cig lighter and set the unit aside.
2. Inside there are two bolts (in the hole, up under the console). I think they are 9mm, but my memory is fuzzy. Remove those two bolts.
3. The entire center console should pop right out. Be careful of the wires in the back. Disconnect them to take the whole unit out.
4. From there you'll need to remove the climate control knobs and then unscrew the control unit to get access to all the screws on the stereo.
