Hopefully I can save up anough $$$ to put a down payment on one of these baby's by fall time. Just hope it isn't over $20,000 and the insurance isn't to high for a then 20 year old

Heheh, set it as my wall paper too. Damn nice car for 2002. I didn't really like the rest of the past years models. Looks ugly, too compact. This one looks like a Acura high end model car.

With the introduction of the Subaru WRX, I see no need for this ugly ah heck...even if it is a few thousand less. The WRX will kill this thing.

Viper, it's true that the WRX's numbers will most likely be way better than the SE-R and the SE-R Spec-V. But with at least a $4K difference in the sticker price, that makes a big difference in whether some people will be able to afford the WRX. So I think there will be a market for it.

First off, where's Viper at?? I don't see him:Q
Secondly, that $4k equates to an extra 47HP and AWD. The AWD itself is worth it IMHO. And I think that most people could cough up the extra $4k.

NFS4: There is a big price difference, atleast in CDN money. The WRX currently goes for $38K CDN (and I doubt you find it for that price either). THe SE-R will probably go for $29K CDN. That's a big difference. I also assume that the insurance on the WRX will be much greater because it was a turbo and AWD.

While I do agree that WRX is a better car, I would have to go for hte SE-R because it is more practical, for me.

They say it's only for 25K but when you convert it, its almost 40K CDN!!! Most of the cars in Toronto are econo-cars that were bought for around 20K CDN. I still think at the SE-R is kinda expensive though..it's 29K, you can get a base model Maxima for that price!

Do you know the Civic SIR is around 30K CDN over here?? DAMN!

The price hasn't even been announced for it yet, but the the SE-R is supposed to cost $16,000 and the SE-R V Spec is supposed to cost $18,000.

i would consider trading in my '95 sentra for the spec-V.

If the prices that madd indian just stated are correct - and I think they are - I would personally pay the extra $1k, for a grand total of $30k and buy a Maxima GXE over the Sentra.

The WRX is a bloody pricey car in our dollars and I really like it, but why buy a sentra when an overall better Maxima can be bought? Then you have 222 horsepower...sure it won' tbe fully loaded like the sentra but I'd take a barebones maxima over a loaded sentra anyday!

Good points Skoorb, but I think the Sentra SE-R will be a totally different driving experience. The SE-R V-Spec is said to handle just as good as a Integra Type-R, now combine that handling with 180 lb-ft of torque and you have a VERY nice ride.

I'm guessing it will do the 60mph dash in low 6s or even < 6s. Nissan's claim are under-rated IMHO. The WRX is too damn expensive, as is the Impreza 2.5RS. It comes to over 30K out the door, and its just not worth it for that price. Finally, insurance in Canada is DAMN EXPENSIVE! They just love to screw over teenagers.

On another note, us Torontonians don't see many riced-up cars as you guys in the States. We have our fair share, but most of them are subtle and tastefully done. Rarely will you see a Civic with an outrageous body kit.
