Saw a few posts about cars recently, and I thought I'd add my .02.

Check out the link.
Click on the "Preview the 2002 Sentra SE-R" link.
Look at all the pics and stats, and tell me this is not going to be one *phat* car.

I will be first in line at my local dealership to pick one up in the fall. They had better be bringing it to Canada as well, or I may just have to import one.

Comments anyone?

You really think so?

I think the regular Sentra is pretty blah, but I think they have done an excellent job dressing up the SE-R.

I'm so glad they brought this model back!:D

still a pretty dull looking car

True but it's probably the best sports car in it's class. I personally wish Honda or Toyota made the Neon (instead of Dodge) then I'd buy it in a heartbeat. I'm all for quality, reliability and resale value. All of which I'm pretty sure that the Sentra SE-R V can offer. Put all of that bang into a Honda Civic and you have a winner.

How does this Sentra compare to the Civic si or whatever the "sport tuned" model is?

RossMAN,

If i'm not mistaken, they do not make the 160HP Civics anymore, so I think the most powerful engine you can get in a Civic now is the 127 HP VTEC engine. Not so powerful anymore. I feel that Honda is alienating a lot of their "hobby car" buyers by not offering the good engine anymore. Also they switched away from double wishbone suspension to a new system which is not nearly as responsive.

As for the Sentra SE-R Spec V, the stats are as follows:

2.5L DOHC I4
180 HP, 180 ft. lbs. torque
6 speed manual tranny
17" P215/45ZR tires

Looks like it has the makings of a schweet car.

Oh and I found another page for those of you that don't want to go through all the Flash pages at the Nissan site. Try this link.

AlphaIVT,

WOW! The new Altima looks great too! I hadn't seen any pics of them before. If Nissan keeps this up, they just might be the Chrysler (in terms of design) of the 21st century!

Let's just hope they don't go through the same financial troubles as Chrysler is going through right now ;)

LOL...you guys consider these sports cars??!!

And the new Civic Si's have 160 HP. You're thinking of the old Hatchback Si's that had 127 HP.
