Cush Honda of San Diego has this deal in todays paper. I bought a 4 door last weelend for that price. I love it. payment is in the mid $200's. This applies to all Civic LX's without side airbags. Thay also have other cars on special. Invoice on a civic LX is about 14,250.

Subaru has 2.9% APR on most cars including the WRX..

I am a believer in used cars though.. if I was in your case, I woulda bought a 98 Integra GS-R or a 99 Civic Si if you really wanted a civic. Just my opinion though..hehe

Same here, used cars are much better.. If you know how to inspect a car.. You can get a great luxuary car for about $14,000 loaded with features :) and it wouldn't need to be THAT old, just 2 or 3 years old is enough to drop the value big time. My 1990 V6 camry fully loaded (LE) is only worth about $1500 now :disgust:

I don't care how well Saturn's are rated, it's still Saturn.

My family has a 97 Civic LX, and a 99 Accord EX V6 and plan on getting an Odyssey for our next vehicle.

i dont know about the newer saturns, but the civic does have a good resell value. and good reputaion in relaibility

i heard couple years ago that the saturns are made out of plastic, now i dont care if it can bounce back from a dent or whatever. plastic just sounds cheap, yes i said it sounds cheap dont know if it is indeed cheap or not, i dont think many people feel safe if they were riding in a car with plastic doors even though that kind of plastic they are using just might be as strong as steel.

Hate to break it to you, even Honda uses plactic's like saturn, you know where they got the Idea... Thats right, Saturn. Honda even buys motors from GM now, mostly V8's. Look under the hood of a honda you will see a lot of Delphi relays and small parts. ALL GM.

But the Saturn has a better rating from saftey, reliability, and gas milage. That and no timing belt to break like honda.

But most people don't know that much about cars, so if thats what looks good to you. good luck.

LOL, I thought the cash that paid for those TV spots by the American Steel Association showing a car crash was a waste of air because it contained ZIPPO for facts, but apparently it emotionlaly manipulated at least some people & perhaps was money well spent!

Personally, neither steel nor plastic along makes me feel safe or unsafe. What determines my "feelings" are the FACTS as determined by the government and insurance institute crash tests, etc.

FYI Hypercar (? -- dunno about name for sure, just heard this on NPR a couple days ago) of Utah has a prototype hybrid car that not only gets great gas milage, but with the special fiberglass body you can WALK AWAY from a head on at 35mph. try that in any of your "safe feeling" steel cars!

my partner had a saturn. note i said HAD. the engine dropped out and he wants a honda now
buying a used car is a good deal for some. but for somebody who keeps a car like me, it's a bad deal getting someone else's problems
and wrx is dope (when you think about the us regulations holding it back and all), but what subaru can you get for $13,999 and 4.9%?
that said, the coupe is ugly and i'm glad they finally got some good-looking 15-inch factory rims. now if they'd only put them on the cars...

Bump for Honda's! Honda's hold their value really well. They are really well built, and you get a lot for your money.

They use them in the middle east and Europe. Honda makes big trucks like Mercedes does, Big and Ugly.

Any thing else kids ;)

Here's safe and reliable for ya:

3 weeks ago I walked away unscathed from an accident in which my '92 Honda Civic EX 4-door rolled over twice. Needless to say, they are going to total it, and give me ~4500 for it. While that seems like a lot for a 9 year old car with ~190,000 miles on it, in a way I still feel like I'm getting ripped off. Though I treated it like crap, the car was in perfect condition internally, and I would have probably kept it until the (automatic)transmission fell out +100,000 miles later. Who can guess what kind of car I'm getting to replace it?

hahahahahaha...

honda.... v8.. ahhaahahahaha... whats it got 500hp...

i think you got something wrong... honda is famous for building engines... all get 80hp/liter MINIMUM...
the s2000 is what 240hp? and its a 2.0 liter 4 banger...

you did probably read about the Honda Passport.. its not made by honda, which is not a new concept in the automotive bussiness. It could have a V8 for all i know

of all the cars on the road.. hondas and toyota's are the most reliable

and if i recall... i think the new civic coupe and crv got 5 star government crash test ratings... not bad at all....

honda does not make a v8 for sale anywhere in the world. period.

They do however make V10s for their Formula 1 racing teams and V8s for their Champ car teams. Not for sale to general public ;)

Hi Gerrick:

___With the Auto show here in Chicago this week, I am hoping for a good deal like what you found for the Civic LX. I have been looking at the Civic LX 4 Dr. for the last two months and they are just a touch under $15,000 ($14,983) including destination at dealer cost here in Illinois. The 2002 Camry LE?s look great but at $18,000.00 w/ 32 mpg-highway to be burned up in 4 years is a bit much. Having a 92 Accord LX with 156,000 and 2 set of tires, a broken timing belt at 132,000 (I should have replaces it at 120 ;)), and minor suspension work to show for it, Honda?s have my vote for the longevity and low operating costs. My wife?s 92 Toyota Previa has 162,000 and has had 3 sets of rotors and calipers (this is pissing me off) as well as 1 AC rebuild. The 97 Nissan 4x2 P/U has 90,000 and won?t start in wet weather (POS!), the 2000 Chevrolet 4x2 ext. cab has 39,000 and the passenger seat will not latch (4X to the shop now ?) and only gets 21 on the hwy when it was supposed to get 29, and my long forgotten 87 Mercury Sable was basically undriveable at 160,000 w/ A/C going out twice, fuel injection shot, suspension shot, along with rotors and pads every 45,000 ? The Toyota with last weeks rotor/caliper/pads replacement is still solid but I need a high mileage car for work (200 miles/day round trip) and the Civic looks to fit the bill. That $13,999 is a deal for a car that works as well as the Honda?s I have owned in the past and gets 38 mpg on the highway to boot!

___I do have to ask if the $13,999 for an LX 4-dr. w/out side air bags included destination as well?

___Thanks for the heads up. Now I will just have to wait and see ?

Only issue I have with Saturn is GM makes crappy cars. I guess you have not seen any new rtating on Saturn. Consumer reports tells you to buy something else. This model civiv is the highest rated small car by the Insurance Institue for Highway Safety. That is all I have to say about that.

BTW I have a 2001 accord EX that my wife drives. owned it for 362 days now and have 23,000 miles on it. I've not had a single issue. I see toyota and Honda as having the best cars right now. I don't like toyota because they act like an american car company. They have too many different models. It is hard to find two cars that are exactly the same.
