IMHO it's why Torque is the only real measurement at the crank and wheels, HP should only be measured by ET's :)

Hmmm. That Sentra is pathetic, especially for all the SUV/Truck guzzling talk that goes on.

i dunno about these people, but i can personally say that in my sentra, i get 29 miles to the gallon with normal driving.

I'm sorry, these are econosport sedans.
For those who want econo sedans, there's the Sentra XE that gets 27/35.

What do you expect from the highest displacement bunch of the group, that makes the most hp/tq per liter NA?
There's a penalty to be paid for the most well-rounded performer of the bunch.

FYI, the mileage gets better as it's further broken in.

ICK. who TF would want a neon? All the other cars are worth driving, but a neon? Come on.

You obviously have never driven a Neon ACR. Watch it at the autocross...it 0wnz. Dunno about the R/T model tho.

These cars aren't expected to have high mileage since they are performance oriented. The Sentra CA, the Civic DX, Corolla CE all offer superior mileage even compared to their domestic counterparts.

As for the F-body getting 30mpg..thats only on the highway. I'm sure when the drivers drop the pedal, the mileage is gonna be going waayyy down...almost like watching your gas needle drop was you accelerate!! :)

Torque and RPM are the only things you can measure. HP is simply a calculation. Everybody knows that ;)

Doesn't suprise me. I bought my ex-fiance a 2000 Neon... It was a peice of sh!t. Horribly constructed.

Maybe that's why she's your ex?:)

Exactly it is only a calculation but I don't agree with the variables that make it up from a dyno :) the reason I said ET only was this:Horse power calc based on the run

To me thats a real world HP, if I'm gonna read a calculated number I want it based on a physical run, if I exhange my LM7 out for a LS4 (Z06 motor) that block is rated at 405HP, but I'm not going to have the same speed run while it's in my +2500lb vehicle.
While these motors might be rated for 170HP in some of these cars, whats the true HP considering the weight drivetrain and how the powerband works :)

Having been a force in World Rally Championship racing for the last five years or so, Subaru has allowed this success to trickle down to their production offerings. The Impreza WRX sedan and wagon offer incredible performance value, with a turbocharged, 227-horsepower engine allowing sub-six second blasts to 60 mph. But the WRX exceeded our $21,000 base price limit for this test, so we took the next best thing, the Impreza 2.5 RS ? essentially a less powerful version of the WRX.

I was going to say....how did an Impreza NOT make #1. They used the wimpy RS model, that's why :)

My WRX is testicle squashing fast, but I guess it was too pricey for the cheapskates :)
