I just got my 2001fp from dell on monday. I'm having what seems to be a major problem.
When I use my DVI input from my 6800GT/SLI video card I seem to get little pixel thin horizontal lines that flicker over text and some dark areas of the screen.
I will first point out that this only happens when I'm using the 1600x1200 resolution AND the DVI input. It seems to work fine when I use D-Sub with the same resolution and settings.
The monitor I had before this one was the Samsung 193P which is a 19 inch and was capable of 1280x1024 resolutions. I am using the same DVI cable that I used previously with the 193P but hadnt noticed any distortion on that screen either (although it was incapable of 1600x1200)
As an example I will use the application Rhapsody as an example as it seems to happen more here than anything. If anyone is familiar with this application it has a dark grey border. It is around this border that the distortion appears. I can best describe it as pixel thin horizontal lines over the right hand border of the window. It also seems to appear over some text inside the window.
What gets me is that when I shrink the window to a smaller size they go away entirely. Also when I click on the expand arrow for the system tray (I'm running windows XP) I see the distortion around these icons. As soon as the tray minimizes again they dissapear.
This situation has got me at a loss for words and I cant seem to figure out what it is other than a possibly bad DVI connection.
If anyone has any insite I'd love to hear it... also I'm going to try to swap out the DVI cable to see if it it is the problem. I'll repost any solutions that I may find.
