It's going to live on as a sleeper.

Don't own, and never got into the 3D printer scene. So I won't be doing any cool mods to it. I will probably make a full side, magnetic mesh panel, for it. I have not done any searching yet. I'll see what others are doing with it, that is straight forward. I'd like to add a 120mm intake fan on the front. Looks doable, eyeballing it.

For now, I'll use it with the side panel off.

Old Antec PSU still hums along. They built stuff to last.

Yeah I have the aluminum Chen Ming version which might be the next size up (aka Antec SX1040?) because it has 2x 80mm rear exhaust fan mounts, temporarily in retirement due to the small 80mm fan mounts. It might be what I use to build a replacement NAS box in one of these days since that won't need much airflow, and put it in same location where I can't hear it.

I must have really liked it back in the day because although it already had a windowed side panel, newegg had a sale on the (same) Chieftech windowed side panels for $2 + $5 S/H so I bought a spare side panel that's been sitting in my basement for 22 years! Unfortunately the window is brittle acrylic so not so easy to cut out a fan hole in it, maybe strapping a glass cutter to a compass would get the job done, or just buy a sheet of polycarb which is easier to machine.

I have the previous model the SX-800 in storage. Main difference was no front USB ports, had to own my own. Was still using it 4 years ago.
Curious what the SX cases ever had to do with Alienware?100_6447.JPG
