I have a friend who is moving to California to live with some rich person he met on the internet. He is selling most of his stuff.

He has a 200 Volkswagon Beatle that has 103,000 miles on it. I also has a salvaged title as it was hit and the front fender was replaced. He is willing to sell to me for $3,000. I had a mechanic that is a member of my family look at it and he said it was a good car but I am concerned about the salvaged title.

What do you think?

Is $3,000 a good price considering the salvaged title?

Uh I would slightly be more concerned that your friend is moving to cross country to Cali to live with someone he met on the internet and is now selling everything...

But anyways 3k isnt a bad price, but I need to know moe like condition and trim and option level. Assuming it's roughly half off and you like it and there was no frame/unit-body damage, fine, but Volkswagens do not exactly have confidence inspiring reliability once you get into the higher mileages.

I'm not sure about your state but just a simple front end collision dosen't make a salvage title. It seems the accident was much more severe. If your all that concerened you can do a Carfax. But you may have some issues with your insurance when getting this car. It may be higher if anything due to the salvage title.
