I have windows 2000 server installed, with DHCP enabled. The computer get one of the dynamic ip address from the server, fine.

Now I want to include my DSL modem, to share internet access. Don't I need a second network card on the server for this?

How would I go about sharing my internet, not through ICS, with the modem/router?

My network has ip range of 192.168.1.2 - 192.168.1.254, server is 192.168.1.1 and modem/router is 192.168.1.254.

Previously, the DSL modem/router was set up with DHCP enabled...

Sounds to me like you just need to turn off dhcp on the modem/router (if it's got it), and configure the Win2K dhcp server to put 192.168.1.254 in the default gateway field for connecting clients. No dual-NICs needed.

Thanks for the help,

I had it setup with my modem/router and my server connected to the switch, and on my windows 2000 server I have it configured with a static ip address of 192.168.1.1, and for the default gateway I put in 192.168.1.254, but the server couldn't get internet access. The dhcp on the router was off.

Right now I'm just trying to get my server on the internet, not really worrying about the dhcp clients because once the servers running I just have to put the correct settings in the dhcp options.

Here is the modem's website. It's an old dsl modem.

BTW, there are options on the modem for NAT, they should be disabled, correct?
