You can turn most of the crap off in XP. Can easily make XP Pro w/office pro and AV boot using only 90mb of ram or so.

lol no i'm not from melbourne (I dont even know where it is)

I am just curious because i've been using 2k Pro on my own machine for a while, but I just installed XP pro on my mom's bf's computer, and it got me thinking...

So i dunno, I have no problems with 2k...

I've got my computer loaded with XP and 2K.

I use 2K about 99% of the time, not because there is anything specifically wrong with XP but because win2K does everything I want it to do and it does it well. XP is a pig of sorts. I always turn off the glitz and glitter immediately after the install.

Agreed. XP has little improvements here and there, but nothing that justifies to me the price tag to upgrade. And, of course, there's always the Product Activation hassle.
