True...but you'd have a better guarantee of decent service if it were a manual transmission. Skoorb got a decent deal a few years ago on his. They just tend to hang in there longer with a possible clutch replacement, but the actual tranny will probably hang in there. Automatics have that chance of causing problems at 130k+ if they were driven rough or poorly designed.

Even my fathers' 2000 maxima has tranny anomalies. I know it won't last forever. I don't think the trannies in these cars are very good in my experiences..

Hmm, google isn't turning up much aside from the Lexus LS430 transmission.
