That's a rather nice budget. What are you building this computer for? Gaming? Multimedia? Work?

I would suggest you build your spelling skills. There is no way one can have a typo on the same word in the same way...

Mandatory comment about how I would build a ~$1000 computer and spend $1500 on the sound

:laugh:

I wouldn't build a 2k-2.5k PC!
I'd need a "budjet" of $25,000-$35,000. That's just the way I roll... Because I'm so Big-Time! :p

Buy what you need now and be happy.

Some items can wait till after Xmas.

Good building.

Bozo, fantastic rig. Looks like you've managed to stretch that budget as far as it will go. My only change would be to remove the hard drives and one optical and then put a raptor (or 2) there, but that's just my view.

assuming you have a monitor, speakers, keyboard, mouse and can pick whatever DVD burner you need (they are cheap nowadays):

* eVGA 680i SLI motherboard: $270
* Intel Core 2 Duo E6600: $313
* Scythe Infinity: $58
* Corsair Dominator 2x1GB DDR2 1066: $387
* eVGA Geforce 8800GTX: $660
* Creative X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty: $116
* Lian Li PC-61: $90
* Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB: $95
* Seasonic M12 500W: $140

total: $2129

this should handle any game at up to 1920x1200 with absolutely everything maxed... if you care about how fast your OS or games load, add a WD Raptor X for $200... if you don't have a monitor/speakers, i can suggest an alternative system :)

EDIT: forgot the PSU, woops!
EDIT 2: the intention of this system is that you'll OC the crap out of the CPU (possibly the vid card too)
