The Goodguys, a electronics store in CA and NV is having their 200% price guarantee promo again!! You will get DOUBLE the difference if you find a lower price, you have 60 DAYS to find the lower price, and they are extending their exchange period to 30 days after christmas (so about 90 days total!!) 30 days for refund on most items...

the 200% difference is paid out via mail-in rebate and comes in the form of a "store credit" gift check good for future purchases...of course the item you are pricematchign must be instock at the other store and no internet pricematches....

there are SURE to be hot deals this holiday season!!! This promo is legit and i have a $285 gift check from the last promo i need to spend soon!

Goodguys is a major chain store in the CA/NV region like circuitcity, this is NOT an internet deal and there is NO information on the internet about this deal so please no flames like "i looked at their website and cant find the info". A copy of the deal can be found in the 11/10 edition of the San Francisco Chronicle or go into the store...

Cool deal! Any ideas for items to pricematch yet? Good Guys is one of the few stores I know of that actually carries Energy speakers. It'd be nice to get enough out of this promo to buy a subwoofer. Come on guys, let's find some deals! Question: say you buy something, pricematch it to get the 200%, and then return it. Would you still get the mail-in credit?

I did exactly that last time...mailed off for the rebate instantly, returned the item on thr 30th day, hoped id get it...

i did get it, and I believe they dont cross reference...but your mileage may vary, they might have learned from last time....

ive found stereos speakers and portable cd players to have large price differences when on sale at other stores....

you could probably get away with it but i'd return the item only after i received my mail rebate.

they took about 90 days for the rebate last time, so waiting till you get the rebate b4 u return the item wont work

Thanks, I'll keep my eyes open. They used to carry small selection of PC stuff, they still do that? I haven't been paying attention, everytime I'm in there I head straight to the HT stuff.

Good Guys has a good selection of items, but their prices are expensive. They are having financial problems, so you guys doing this will not help keep their head above water. I don't buy much at Good Guys because I can find anything they have for cheaper elsewhere, but I do like to go see what they have sometimes...
Oh, and the pricematch 200% difference is a credit(as the original post states), not cash. So you have to buy another one of their overpriced items with it.

Hmm...so you can only do store credits with the 200% credit? I was considering some HT stuff or possibly a smaller MD recorder. Post anything if you find good deals.

The stuff I buy is NEVER cheaper than Good Guys and I've bought quite a bit of stuff from them. They are much better to deal with than Circuit city!

Did you say they will PM on-line stores? Not just the big on-line stores but the small ones too?

no they do NOT pricematch online sites, they have the best prices OFF the net, meaning the lowest instore prices since theyll match any store, not just an elctronics store like bestbuy or CC, theyll match sears, target, any local store...sorry if i made that confusing...

the only reason i suggested you might have a shot at PMing massmerchandise is b/c you are technically buying from a local store...the receipt will say "mass merchandise, cupertino CA" which in my area is about 20 miles away so it MIGHT have a shot...a long shot....

For car audio, go to any car audio specialty store and you should be able to find anything for about 20% off what they charge. For TV's and other electronics, you can go to wherehouse store like Fry's and find it for usually much cheaper and any online retailer. For computer products, Fry's or any online retailer (Staples will PM any online retailer like mychasestore) will save you quite a bit more.

Noticed no one has posted anything to this thread for a couple days, figured it could use a bump (especially with Turkey Friday coming up, very good day to get deals).

I'll stop by my local Good Guys store and check things out. I'm sure there is something I can find cheaper at other stores.
