I picked one up couple months ago....Yep quiet, voltage unlocked, good clocker.

Just ordered another tbis AM for a 4670k build, debated on a gtx 660. 🙂

That is a good price, might volley this off to someone I know.

Are there any promotions going on for newegg that would improve pricing?

I just bought the MSI 7870 card @Newegg for 194.99 -25 rebate so net 169.99 and that was 6-29-13, then right after that they had it for $189.99 - 25 rebate so 164.99... Point is better deals are to be had soon, I'd wait, $200 ain't that good... The MSI is stock overclocked and I'm very happy with mine so far. And as far as this IceQ being the best, obviously that's questionable, because in my opinion its ugly. It looks lopsided and just not as good as the multi-fanned units... That Power Cooler 7870 is way better looking IMO...

Yeah, I agree with Termie, not really a Hot* price. Thats a pretty large claim to say this is "By Far" the best 7870, there are a few really good cards, the MSI Hawk, the Sapphire flex, the Asus DC, and the Gigabyte Windforce are all very very capable coolers. I also don't have experience with this card in particular, but all the listed 7870's tend to max out core clocks near one another at 1200-1250mhz , with the occasional gem such as the Hawk hitting 1300

The biggest plus for the card is the cooler. Quiet, runs cool, pumps heat outside the case.

why do you hate to say that? that was a good thing that it dropped to that price back in August, and it dropping again is also a good thing

My point is that video card prices in the midrange have definitely stabilized over the past nine months.

I'd say the upper-midrange is where the deals are now - the HD7950 and GTX760, for instance.

I agree. I think there have been some good deals on the low end as well (i.e. 7770). It would be hard for me to recommend a $200 7870 right now. Back in August, this $200 7870 was a good deal, because the 7850s with a good cooler were going for $190+. Now, the 7850 Twin Frozr is only $160 AR and the better deal IMO: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814127663

...or this one for $150 AC (EMCXNWW35): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814131473

If I were buying now though, it would be a GTX760 or 7950. The 7950 was $300+ when I bought my 7870 for $200.
