200 Gig Western Digital HDD issues...

Like the title says, I've got a 200 gig WD HD and my computer only recognizes it as 127. I've heard about this before but I'm not sure how to correct it.

I'm running Windos XP w/ sp2 and I've got a 36 gig Raptor with the OS on it, and the 200 is going to be used as extra storage.

Anyone know how to fix this, and what I need to do to resolve the issue?

You can try these steps:

Control Panel --> Administrative Tools --> Computer Management --> Disk Management --> right click on your new HD partition, and create extended partition(s) there.

Ahhh, thank you.

I did what you said, and the other 58 or so gigs showed up as an unalocated section of my HD. I was able to delete both partitions (after taking the steps you said) and combined them into one drive. So now, instead of 127 gigs, I have 186 .
