What is the best upgrade i can get for 200 dollars?

Currently i have

64 3200+
6800gt
1 gb pc3200
80gb hdd
dvdrw
lcd

i was looking into getting a 74gb raptor drive, but my friend told me that hey dont improve anything unless you have 2 in raid, so any suggestions?
 
i think your system is fine...how about a bigger extra hard drive?

or if you want, you could get a 7600GT. 7900GT would be out of your budget though.

raptors arent worth the premium unless you raid them, i think.
 
i was also looking to get 2gb of ram, maybe some corsair xms? Or should i not upgrade and spend elsewhere?

also forgot to say im a somewhat hardcore gamer, so anything to help with better fps and loading times
 
if you have a single 1gb stick, buy a matching pair. otherwise sell what you have and get a 2x1gb kit for no more than $140. is your 6800gt pci-e or agp? if it's pci-e, you can try selling it for around $100 so you have a total of $160 ($200-140 ram upgrade) so you can get a 7600GT
 
i have 2x512, and a 7600 gt isnt a big enough upgrade for me to get, i guess ill get 2x1gb of xms or maybe just stick with value
 
there was some site withbenchmarks of different memory and how it afffected fps over time. short benchmarks don't show the difference, too much not cached yet.
