OMG! I ordered a receiver from the net and they just attempted delivery. No one was home, but they left a notice saying i owe them a 200-dollar brokerage fee?! Holy sh1t! I'm in Canada and i ordered from US. What the hell, are these people insane?!
Update: Ok i called UPS and they told me that the actual brokerage fee is only $55 and the rest is taxes. They said it's for them filling out the forms on the border. Usually the sender pays, but this time they told UPS to charge me. I thought it was $200 brokerage + taxes, because the driver left a delivery attempt notice that had $200.99 written in "brokerage fees" textbox. Oh well. Good news is that the store told UPS the item costs $600 instead of $750USD, so i paid about $50 less in taxes. Broke even in the end so i don't complain
