That's right. Still running with the same clutch. I got the car with 35,000 miles and haven't changed it yet. Seems like I may be losing some mpgs lately, may be time. Need to change fluid out in the transmission too. see how much metal is in there. 😱 :'(

if you have 200k on it i wouldnt touch tranny fluid the metal in the fluid is probly what is keeping the gears from grinding to all hell. and if your clutch isnt slipping its still good MPG is probly from tired motor and possibly needing some preventive repairs. or just the fact it has 205k on it! 😛 they dont run like new forever

D: Yeah, I'm always missing the 3>2nd downshift and usually grind that a bit. I'm trying to let it unspool more lately. 😎
 
Got 105k on my 2006 Scion Tc and its still running like a champ. I'm still debating changing the fluid on my transmission though. Great reliability for daily drivers.
 
I would change the gear oil in the trans for sure. You have nothing to lose by doing so.
I usually change mine every year as a cheap preventative maintenance type thing. (I also drive as much as you do)

I don't buy this line of reasoning with an MT.

Anyway, I know my friend put over 200k on his 4Runner's OEM clutch. Highway miles are easy on them 😉

For an AT I might understand this thought but for an MT, it is practically just gear oil. Change this fluid!

Edit: I changed my AT fluid and filter/pan on my BMW at 110,000 about a month ago with no ill effects other than smoother and faster shifts. *fingers crossed*

Oh no. I ran over a truck tread that the idiot in front of me flipped onto the freeway, and whacked the lower lip. The fog light inserts fell out and the thing sags a littl because of broken mounts.
Glass is cracked from road work around here. Rear skirt is marked from me doing u-turns on narrow dirt roads.
I have the broken license plate holder tape thing going on in back. I really need to get a replacement. :\
 
My 2007 Scion tC's engine went out on me at 62k miles (2k miles outside of warranty) and my dealership replaced the engine (nearly brand new engine) for free. I started hearing a clicking noise from my cylinders at 20k miles and they documented it but could not figure out the problem. The engine runs like new now. I'm now at 82k miles and I expect it to go another 82k if I wanted.

Otherwise never had any other problem besides a broken rod on the axle which was a cheap fix. Car has been great.

that's weird. Never heard of camry engines doing that. Great of them to replace the engine too. By great I mean "it's awesome they didn't do what they could have done and shafted you"
 
My old festiva had the original clutch at 190k when I got rid of it.

I kind of miss that old car. I got lazy and stopped using the clutch except to start/stop after a little while. Never ground a gear either. I'm guessing they were probably already pretty rounded by that point and wouldn't grind 😉
