Product quality has been a problem area for Nissan, especially interiors. What are you doing about that?

We are recognizing them first, reacting to them and improving them quickly. For example, when the Altima went on the market, it was very successful. But even though it was successful, the negatives we got from customer feedback [indicated that] we could do a better job in terms of the interior quality. We took to heart the reaction of the customers. We made a lot of modifications of [the Altima's] interior this year, and we're getting great feedback.

Ghosn is cool. When Nissan was stagnant and unprofitable in the mid/late 90's and were about to go under, Renault installed Ghosn to turn the company around. One of the first things he did was revive the Z car. He called up Mr. K and asked his opinion on things. He understands that a company needs some flash to it, or else it is viewed as dead and stale.

Btw, I met Mr. K at Zcon this past June.

Meh, pretty boring questions.

How about Why the Fubar isn't the Maxima RWD!!?!?!?!

I know what he'd say though 🙁

Cuz it would make it quite a bit more expensive, less practical, and wouldn't increase sales that much?

Personally, I don't care much for Nissan's designs. We looked at a Murano when shopping for a new vehicle and I wasn't impressed.

Where are other opportunities for Nissan?
The second set of opportunities is in our existing markets. For example, in the U.S., there are six segments where we're not represented. The [subcompact] is one where there is clear opportunity.
subcompacts, HD trucks, cute-ute, hybrid, wagon, van, non-gt convertible... uhh...

Don't the Murano and Quest cover the wagon and van segments?
