Ok, here's the deal. It's actually legit, except that you shouldn't have to pay money for this info.

I did this in the past...and there are a few companies that do this. But basically, you purchase these gift cards from certain websites and they will refund you 20% of what you paid within 2 weeks.

These websites have a membership fee however, but usually the first month is free. AFter that if you want to continue using their service, it's $9.99 or something / month.

So, regarding amazon...I actually bought a $500 GC for amazon. I paid $500, then a week later, I got $100 refunded.

The GC comes in a letter and it worked perfectly online. I quickly cancelled the membership after the month.

Also, I forgot what these websites were. I dont remember the names of them anymore, sorry =(

Okay, so if I wanted to buy a macbook pro, which is $2500, could I buy 5 $500 gift cards, pay $2500, and get $500 back?

Well, each website will limit you how much you can buy from a single vendor. Usually it's like $500 max/vendor/year.

So if you bought $500 GC from amazon, you have to wait a year (maybe each month I can't remember) to buy more amazon. However, you'd be free to buy other vendors like circuit city, etc.

What I did was I made 2 accounts and I was able to buy $500 from each site.

$1000 GC for $800.

Oh yea, this works for sure. I'm actually a member of their Canadian arm.

We have lifestyles, galleria, and at home, it's a huge thread over at redflagdeals. just google "galleria lifestyles forum"

Here's a thread about it here in wiki format: http://stratford-citizens.ca/tiki-index.php?page=Memberworks

I save 20% off gas, electronics at BB, department stores.. it's pretty decent.
You pay about 20/month, but you can call in and get a promo for $20/year. That's a great deal there because you can order up to $500 per store and get $100 back.

The reason why they do this is for marketing.. when you spend your giftcards they can see your shopping patterns.

CC's do it anyways, so I don't really have a problem with it.

There are no links and it is referal based. PM me for a link to sign up.
