So, today marked the first day of my employment with a bank here in Massachusetts. In orientation this afternoon I learned all about the various benefits the company offers, but my favorite one is definitely this: The bank reimburses employees 20% (up to $250) off of all computer and computer related purchases. So, I now have a built-in, guaranteed 20% bonus off of all the hot deals I do! Woot!

any purchase - it pertains to specifically personal purchases, not work purchases. They say it is because they want their employees to have access to good computers.

Up to only $250? Does that mean 250 is the max discount, or 250 is the max item price that the discount applies to? If it's the latter... than it doesn't sound like such a great deal considering a lot of hardware is well beyond $250.

it resets every 3 years - but I'm only sticking around for one year, so I'll make sure to use it before I go

$250 is the max discount. That is, 20% of purchases up to $1,250 will get the refund. After that, the $250 is used up and no more refund applies.

thats only $2500 worth. not worth getting in trouble over if you're trying to resell stuff. I'm guessing their policy would prohibit that.

actually, it's half that, $1250 (20% of $2500 would be $500). I don't plan on using it to resell stuff anyway, I'm much more excited about the discount just for my personal computer-upgrading needs.
