I ran into Andre at SFO in the summer of 1987. He truly was a monster of a man. I'm about 6'1 and felt like a midget next to him.

He may have been a wrestler but I will always remember him for his awesome role in The Princess Bride.

The picture of the Molsen can is probably incorrectly labelled....the words say it's a 12oz can. It's more likely that it's only a 10oz can.

I travelled to Canada quite a few times when I was younger and always felt ripped off when I bought a can of Coke or whatever. 1st because at the time it was New Coke, 2nd because it was smaller than the US size. Massive beer distrobution didn't used to be as prevelant as it is now and Andre spent more time in Canada and NYC than anywhere when he wasn't touring with the WWF.

There are legendary stories by some of the cast member of The Princess Bride. Cary Elwes would make himself sick trying to have as much fun as Andre.

I'd beat his ass down for lying! That movie rocked. It's half the reason Homeland is so awesome because Inigo Montoya is a huge part.

Dead Like Me is awesome to watch, only 2 seasons but his character was great.

Amazing guy.
Documentary about Andre the giant :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pxck08l_aFc

Long ago i watched the fight between Hulk hogan and Andre the giant.
Believe it or not but Hulk hogan lifted him up. Interesting note is that Andre already had serious back problems here as can be seen in the documentary.

Imagine if there was once a tribe of people where gigantism was a family feature. That would have been big people. What also amazes me, is that Andre the giant seems to me to be build proportional in size. He does not have huge legs with a small body or something like that.

What I realized is how huge Hulk Hogan was to not look like a midget next to Andre. I had no idea Hogan was 6'7 300, I thought he was closer to 6'3. Guess I didn't watch enough pro wrestling

Like Andre, Hulk was huge as a kid, as well. On a talk show many years ago, he had a pic of his little league baseball team. Hulk was 6', 200lbs as a 12-year old. He towered over the other kids.
