I have a NEC Crt http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/comparison,497-14.html

I haven't used it much but with all the hype surrounding 120hz LCDs (and the fact that I can't get a hold of any 120hz LCDs to test myself) I thought I would hook it up and compare it to my 10 year old 17" no-name 60hz LCD. What I found was that it doesn't look any better at all.

Besides everything being much darker on the CRT, even with max brightness, I didn't notice any difference between the CRT and LCD. The highest refresh rate for the CRT listed in Windows was 85hz (don't know if it could go higher) and I noticed no difference between playing a twitch shooter like Quake compared to my 60hz LCD -- no matter with v-sync on at 85fps vs 60fps or v-sync off (tearing everywhere on CRT).

If anything I dislike this monitor more than the LCD because of the flicker. I can't stand flickering and it kills my eyes even at 85hz.

So, since I apparently don't notice or dislike all of the qualities that a CRT monitor has, would I benefit from a 120hz LCD, which is praised for CRT-like performane?
