I am looking for a LCD TV (It is for a guest room, so it will not be used a great deal, but it is necessary and it does not have to be anything special).

Looking for at least 20"/22".

I would like to spend less than $300.

I would like to avoid eBay and other such nonsense. I also have been checking Craigslist for a while, but have come up empty.

Thanks.

Do you have a Costco membership? They have a few 19" models at the B&M at your price range.

I do.

Do they not show up on their website?

I see Viewsonic, Magnovox, and something else on Costco.com. B&M selection might be different.

Walmart has a nice magnavox 32" 720p hdtv for $399 on clearance. I picked one up and love it.

Check out "720P Magnavox 32" LCD HDTV $399.00!!! WALMART B&M, YMMV" at the bigwallet site. Its a bit more than you were looking to spend, but the value is increased significantly and your guests would feel quite spoiled. :) Two year extended warranty for $30.

That may cause them to want to return or, even worse, stay longer.

I seriously do not want to have to spend more than $300 on a TV that will not be used most of the time. We do not even have HD in that room, so it does not have to be anything special.

(Cross-posted back at you!)

I may go over to Best Buy and take a look at what they have on the floor. It is walking distance from my office.

That's $270. Slap a 10%/12% coupon on there and you are under $250.

I bought the TV linked above yesterday (well, actually, my wife went and got it while I was at work). I set it up last night and, much to my pleaseant surprise, it picked up a BUNCH of HD stations as well as all the music channels I can otherwise only get on the digital cable box in the other room.

The screen may be a bit too small for my liking, but I think it is good enough for the occasional guest.

Also, I did not think about it until I was setting it up, looking at all the cords that came with it and all the connections, but, when I do not have guests, I can use this unit in a dual monitor or work bench arrangement. Two items for the price of one!

Thanks for the suggestions!

BTW, if anyone sees a better deal on a similar TV within the next ~25 days, please let me know.

Did you score an open box/floor model, or buy it new? I might grab one of these to drop in the kitchen instead of spending money on a digital tuner for the existing TV.

Because my schedule has been so crazy recently and we have a time crunch ("The 'rents are coming, the 'rents are coming!!!), I had to send my wife to pick it up. So, I was not able to do my normal wheeling and dealing. She bought a new closed box off the shelf and paid their asking price - rookie.
