20 inch vs 21 inch wide screen LCD

I have decided that I want a wide screen LCD monitor. I'm looking at 20" and 21" sizes. Both have the same number of pixels, 1680x1050. Does that mean that both sizes require the same CPU and video card potency? If so, why would anyone select down to a 20" when they can get more visual real estate on a 21" wide screen without having to upgrade their horse power? Or am I missing something.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks

Computer specs would stay the same. The reason to go with a 20 over a 21 would be if the quality, speed, brightness, etc were better. All things being the same, I'd prefer a 21.

If the resolution is the same, you aren't really getting more "visual real estate" by going to a larger screen - you're simply getting larger pixels. I personally would take the 20" as I prefer a higher, tighter DPI to a large screen with planet-sized pixels. Hell, even a 20" @ 1680x1050 is a joke in terms of DPI.

21" over the 20" unless of course the price diffence is significant enough to persuade you to go with the 20".

Since the resolution is the same the bandwidth required to drive the LCDs would be the same.

Keep in mind the different characteristics that Amplifier mentioned.
