As the name implies, a Milwaukee area computer company is offering one year of free 20 hours/month dialup access. The account comes with 10MB of email storage though POP3 or webmail access. Presumably, the web mail access is not time-limited. Local dialup numbers are available for Wisconsin only.

The registration process is completely online and the account is instantly active. It DOES ASK FOR A CREDIT CARD NUMBER, but the account number is not checked or billed at the time of account creation. There is a disclaimer that after the 1 year, the credit card will be billed $139.27 per year for unlimited internet access.

Techical support is available via telephone, there may be a $1.99/minute charge. Support is done through their retail locations, so you might get 20 different answers to the same question if you call.

Don't know that anyone is still using dialup, but thought it was a noteworthy deal.

It is my first post. I commonly browse the Hot Deal forums but have never created an account or posted.

I wouldn't give them a valid credit card number either. You don't have to. As far as spam goes, it didn't ask me for a 2nd email address, so the worst case scenario is your account you create with them will have spam. Mine hasn't gotten any, I've only had it active for a few hours tho.

Edit: That IS a good price for unlimited internet, with monthly (not yearly) billing to boot.

Sometimes dialup can be a necessary evil!

Starting May 20th 2005, Access4Less.net will no longer offer dial-up Internet access.
