*bump* for the USB to IDE convertor, but i'd wait for USB 2.0, USB 1.x only supports a max of 1.5 megabytes/second and that's shared among all USB devices.

USB 2.0 supports 60 megabytes/second

Staples has a WD 40gb FIREWIRE drive in their ad for $269.98 (SKU 443937) with a FREE Firewire PCI card (SKU 443938) after mail in rebate. Twice the storage for 80 bucks more and IEEE 1394 has a bandwidth of 400mps, more than enough to do digital video on the fly. Just my 0.02

It's 480Mbps. Geesh, that's fast. My ethernet setup is only 100Mbps (as are most). Anybody know when they're releasing this?
