I saw this deal at cheapbatteries (prefix the www and suffix the com). Somebody had posted this site previously, and it deserves a second look.

The 1-hour rapid charger is for AA size NIMH and NI-CD batteries. The charger can charge 2 or 4 batteries simultaneously. Comes with 4 GP-1800mAh AA batteries. The 4 GP-1800mAh AA Batteries are sold $2 apiece.

Minimum order size is $15. Orders are shipped via ups Ground and are charged the EXACT ups Ground rate. If your order is less than $50 there is an additional charge of only $5 for handling.

I have seen several postings about batteries, & I thought that this was as good as others.

looks like this is a fast charger (1hr) Odds are this charger will heat those batteries up quite a bit, since it's a short charge time, they must be doing it at a fairly high current.

Food for though, you may want to put a fan on your batteries when you use this charger...HEAT KILLS

I just noticed Best Buy has a 4 pack and charger of Energizer 1600mAh AA batteries for $24.99 w/ free shipping.

This way you'd have a B&M to return them to if you're not sasified

Pretty good deal except they charge shipping, and another $5 if your order is below $50. Definitely an example of how not to do a commercial website.

Id recommend the MAHA powerex batteries....they are pretty cheap over at http://www.thomasdistributing.com/batteries.htm Ive ordered from them twice the MAHA charder is the best and most recommended cause you can chage AA and AAA at the same time...leave them in the charger over night without losing and charge or risk of fire or leak, takes 3 horus to recharge and press 1 button and you can discharge the batteries easily

does this charger also "drain" the battery before recharging? if so, this is awesome :)

the MAHA one that i recommend from thomasdistributing doesnt drain the battery but charges to the max what it needs to...with NiMH you only need to drain the batteries on the first charge and ever 10 charges after that

Not sure if this is a good deal or not but Sams Club has the Energizer Rechargeable NiMH AA Batteries & Charger Pack for $19.95.

It comes with 8 NiMH AA Rechargeable Batteries
1700 mAh Capacity Cells
Up to 1000 Charges
1.2V
Charger is a dual charger for AA NiCd and NiMH Batteries.

The down side is that the typical charge cycle for this charger is 7 hrs for NiCd and 14 hrs for NiMH.

That is the cheesiest, crappiest site I've ever seen. Reminds me of the early days of the internet...wolfenstein, doom, winmp3, netscape, 14.4 (man you got a 14.4?! LUCKY!!!)...before it was "cool". I'm not buying anything from them.
