The 8 to 4 is the same deal. Four of the pins in the 8-pin connector will fit into the 4-pin (2x2) connector on the mobo. Again only one way will work and some pins will hang over the end - not sure if they hang over one or both side on that one. Luckily my Zippy had both a 4 and an 8 pin of those as my mobo has no clearance on that one. Plenty of clearance on the ATX. Most of the EPS12V PSUs have both an 8 and a 4-pin. You must have got some OEM special - save a few cents, drop the extra pigtails...
