Ron Paul doesn't have to win the nomination, nor the presidency to make a difference in this country. Just getting the word out, the ideas out, and forcing the Republicans, and even the Democrats, to change a bit is all a good start.

I think the short-term goal is not to get rid of the Federal Reserve, and maybe not the IRS either, but only to get this country headed back in the right direction. This movement didn't begin with Ron Paul, and it certainly won't end with him either.

It is going to be interesting to see what happens to this movement after the 2008 elections.

I've got news for you...this movement IS going to be in the whitehouse because Ron Paul is going to win the election. He already has atleast five states wrapped up and is rapidly moving up in states across the nation. Many already expect him to take New Hampshire, West Virginia, Nevada, Michigan and California, and he is exploding in many other states. The media doesn't give him the credit but Giuliani and the other candidates are terrified of Paul. Check out all the Giuliani events and you'll find many of them have more Paul supporters than Giuliani supporters. Same goes for the other republicans. If you get your information strictly from the corporate media you can never have any idea just how powerful Paul has become. In one week the Paul grassroots campaign will display their support by boosting Paul with another $6+ million dollars in 24 hours. No...this is more than just some heartfelt run. This is a true revolution in 21st century America. All those(not you) who laughed all along have a major surprise coming their way. But the REAL surprise is that after Ron Paul is elected president these naysayers will realize that they were wrong and will fall in love with Ron Paul realizing what a sacrifice he made for our nation.

I wouldn't go this far, but I too hope you are correct.

I do believe the media isn't giving his grassroots supporters credit. Paul is winning all of the straw polls because his supporters are enthusiastic and dedicated to voting. He's polling 8% right now nationally, and I think that many of the supporters for the other Republican candidates are armchair supporters. They're not very motivated to get to the polls and actually vote. The change in support to Huckabee all of the sudden shows how weak their support is. Paul has steadily been climbing.

If Paul gets to 15% nationally, I would agree with you. He's being growing fast. This last month will decide everything.

He seems like a sensible man. Anyone think he can carry Texas in the primaries?

I'm not sure. He was 3rd in the closed straw poll a few months ago. That is significant because the straw poll was larger than most and closed. Only registered Republicans that voted the last 3 times were allowed, showing that he had significant support among hardcore TX Republicans. #1 was Duncan Hunter, and he's out of the race now.

In Austin, where I live, he has fairly strong support. I see Ron Paul signs/magnets every other day. I've only seen a couple of Mitt Romney ones for any other Republican candidate.

I believe he's well received in Houston, which is near/part of his district (I'm not entirely sure).

I saw an Escalade in North Dallas earlier today with a Guliani '08 sticker. Bit of a WTF moment.

I thought all the Ron Paul stuff was suopposed to go into one thread now; can I use AT P&N as a campaign outlet for my candidate too?

I saw that thread. I think what happened is that the OP said that as long as no one comes in and trolls, it would be. But then 3-4 people proceeded to come in and be little bitches.

Go ahead.. but chances are that Ron Paul pwns your candidate with such hard-hitting campaign tactics as solid truth-telling and logical reasoning.

Remember too who Paul defeated to get his seat. He beat Tom Delay(if I recall correctly). This is no small feat and imo is somewhat ironic as Tom Delay is sort of the epitome of what Paul is running against in this election.

Aww...too bad some people don't buy into the RP stuff. I'm sure none of the RP supporters have ever acted like "little bitches" in other threads about other candidates

Aww? Are you in high school or something? I don't care if some people don't like RP's platform.

Little bitches = people that go thread crapping into about every RP thread saying stuff like "he crazy" "he can't win" "stop spamming".

Give me a link showing a Ron Paul supporter going into other candidates threads telling the OP or other posters to stop spamming.

I was under the same understanding...I really wish the Mods would consolidate all the RP threads into one big RP LoveFest thread...then ban anyone who posts RP Love anywhere else....but I doubt that will happen...

I did have a thread where I wanted to consolidate some Ron Paul information but people were spamming it so I had it closed. You guys had your chance. Now can we please stay on topic?

Whaaa...fair to whom?

Actually, I think ALL individual candidate threads should be consolidated, NOT just the RP threads...let each candidate have a single thread for posts. Stop the repeated threads supporting one candidate. Save some space...the intarweb is getting full...

But then what do you do with all the smear threads? Huckabee wants to send AIDS patients to mars; Hillary has secret affair with Janet Reno; Obama prays towards Mecca, etc?

I don't think its possible to ban Ron Raul threads. Even though much of what is already known about Ron Paul has been discussed to death many dozen times.

For that matter, I don't even think Ron Paul supporters are the worst on these forums. In general, dubious and debunkable contentions take on a life of their own.
And even if they don't reappear on that particular thread, we can bet we will hear the same drivel posted again and again on later threads.

Just having some means of separating provable facts, from hypothesizes that need much to get towards provable, and just personal opinion that are indisputable personal opinions that may or may not be shared by others would be helpful. But no one seems to expect logic be employed when bullshit is always creamier.

Perhaps some don't like the RP threads because they can't post links from years ago when he was for the war in Iraq, and now against it. Or that he was pro-life, and is now pro-choice, or whatever.

There's just not a whole lot to argue about with RP because he has held the same beliefs and ideas for decades now. Sure, you can argue his policies, but he's just not nearly as controversial nor as debatable as someone like Hillary or Rudy.

He's a Republican, but we can't nail him to the cross for the war in Iraq, and he's not a Democrat so we can't crucify him for wanting to nanny us.

Evidently, we need a President that half of us want to impeach.

One should ask himself why this hour long interview is posted to the web only, and not slated for broadcast. Would they do this to huck-a-blimp? No.

P.S. Tune in at 7pm eastern tonight to univision and see Ron Paul ignored in Spanish. Use the SAP so you can hear it in Anglais (in theory)

They shouldn't be banned; there is nothing wrong with discussion about him, but one poster here has posted over 30 RP threads as I outlined here and most of them are talking about the same thing. It's like he is RP's AT P&N representative, and if Dave has to keep all of his oil articles to one thread then so should the RP fan leader.

Just about everyone here takes a turn at being the worst :p

I tried a similar thread in the personal forum section too, and it got locked same as yours...
Makes me wonder if all the Mods are on the Ron Paul payroll like many of the posters here...;) (notice the tie-in to Dave?)
