Toddler miraculously escapes death by crouching under train
OKAYAMA -- A 2-year-old boy emerged with only a cut head after he crouched down underneath a JR Kibi Line train as it ran over the top of him here, West Japan Railway Co. (JR West) officials said.
The boy has received treatment at an Okayama hospital and is expected to make a complete recovery.
JR West officials said the driver of the Kibi Line train bound for Okayama noticed the little boy on the tracks on Tuesday night and slammed on the emergency brakes, but it was too late and the train screeched over the top of the child.
As the conductor alighted and checked under the train, the boy crawled beneath the carriage, crying, JR West officials said. (Mainichi)
