2 WU at the same time

How is it possible to have 2 work units running at the same time on my P4, but it is not an HT machine?

P4 2.6, 400 fsb, 768 ram. I didn't see anywhere in the computer info (aida32) that it said hyperthreading. Anyone have any ideas?

Both instances say about 2 1/2 hours to complete.

I've tried that. It appears to be doing them in 2.5 hours but its actually taking 5 hours to do both. 1 instance is working then the other, flipflopping between the 2. They are only taking the 2.5 hours each in cpu time, due to the swapping.

we've had multitasking operating systems for how long now? 🙂
you could run as many processes as you wanted, it'd just take longer (as Gundog explains quite well)

yea, what they said, you can confirm this by going into task manager and seeing how much % of the processing each process is using. they will be using about 49% each (~2% is used for the system processes)
