2 wireless routers

I have two routers. I was going to set this up but I wasnt sure if it was possible.
Router A is connected to my DSL modem.
Router B is configured as an access point and is connected to Router A by one of its lan ports.
Is it possible for having those two routers extend the wireless range in my house? Like use the same SSID and channel?

How would I accomplish this?

Set the two Wireless components to the same SSID different Channels.
