i have 2 machines running xp pro - my gaming rig and my home server. i don't know if it is just my luck, but yesterday on the home server, yesterday i lost print sharing and the ability to use remote desktop - file sharing still works.
on the gaming rig, i uninstalled the ati drivers and that seems to have nuked my registry as the machine can't find it and is in a reboot loop, and in addition to that, it can't find anything connected to its ide port so i can't put my hdd image back on it from either booting from the rom or a acronis created boot flash drive. WTF??
so, did some xp virus go off yesterday? my win7 machines are working fine...???

the odds of these things happening within a hour of each other is rather odd imho...also, they are on 2 different ups, so it is not the ups giving them issues, i think...
any advice?
