When quitting do you wait until the 2 weeks before your departure day to inform superiors or do you tell as soon as you find out. Something I was always curious about.
It would usually be more convenient for you to wait for the 2 weeks. It would be more convenient for your work to tell them right away. Take your pick..
if you like your boss, i guess i'd tell them right away. otherwise, 2 weeks is enough and won't give them a chance to make your life a hell before you leave.
I once worked at a place that would make people leave the day they turned in their two week notice. So I waited for the Friday before I was to start my new job and turned in my notice. Of course, they did not tell me to leave. I guess they knew I wasn't going to be in the folowing Monday since my desk was cleaned off.
I only gave my 2 weeks once. I didn't go back after I gave notice though. I've either had bad luck with employers around here, or this town sucks. I'm leaning towards the latter.
2 weeks minimum. more if you are feeling generous and dont want to piss them off or you are confident they wont let you go 3 weeks early because they found the replacement.
