I have an Intel Pro web cam in my basement I use during the day to keep an eye on my dog (it's got nothing else to do so I figure why not.) I currently use Yahoo messenger and just turn the webcam on to get a steady stream rather than upload to a site every so often. Yahoo forces you to use a small image so the quality's not the greatest though. I haven't messed with MSN Messenger and NetMeeting seems to crash religiously.
I'm about to get a second cam primarily for use in my office upstairs whenever I'm working from home (to wave at/moon the boss.) But I was also thinking about the possibility of using it in the basement on days that I'm not working from home as a second cam. That way I could shoot across the room at a different angle and thus cover the entire area. I could also take a higher resolution shot with one and just do a static upload to my site once every 30 seconds or so.
I've only got one PC in the basement so they'd both had to share the same system. Do you guys think there would be any problems running two cams simlutaneously? Dorky adventure in goofing off I realize, but I've got waste my time somehow.
