I just sold my Voodoo5, and am buying a GF2 Pro. However, I have heard that the 2D image quality on Matrox cards is better than either other brand, so I was thinking of buying an old 8meg Matrox G200 PCI and using that as a 2D card, while using the GF2 as my 3D card. Is this possible on Win98SE? How would I go about connecting one monitor up to the 2 cards if it possible?

it's possible to use two video cards, but only if you have two monitors. the old voodoo 2's and some other 3d-ONLY cards like it used to have a "pass-through" which let you use a dedicated 2D card and pass it's signal THROUGH the 3d-only card out to your monitor. therefore, when you played a game, the 3d card would kick in

cards these days, though, like the gf2, are 2d AND 3d cards, and therefore have to be used alone. if you installed a g200 AND a gf2, you'd have two monitors show up in display properties and could spread your desktop across both screens, but for games you'd be using the gf2. (i.e. you would NOT be using the gf2 solely for 2d, you'd be using BOTH cards for 2d)
