Here's the long and the short of it.. I used to have the Logitech MX Duo, then, months back, the keyboard started acting weird (would stop working for a few secs, then start.. then randomly stop, etc.) so I put it on the shelf and picked up a cheap 10 dollar keyboard. All was well. I came home from school yesterday set my comp up, played WoW for a bit, some CS:S and went to bed.
Today I go to play some WoW and watch a movie at the same time (Using VideoLAN to watch a .bin).. I go AFK for a bit come back, and I'm getting odd graphical issues in WoW.. there are lines connecting characters heads, etc. So I close WoW down, open it up again and close VideoLAN. WoW starts up, everything is fine then I notice my wireless keyboard (which I just took off the shelf and started using again (it worked fine last night) stops working. I restart, the wireless KB starts working for a bit, I run WoW and the login screen is covered in graphical errors... it almost looks like that Mystify screen saver (the one with the moving lines) from Windows 3.11 overtop the normal login boxes/buttons/etc.
Fine I figure I'll shut it off, let it cool down, and try again. I plug in my PS2 cheap KB, then restarted the comp. KB works fine in my BIOS (was checking some random settings) and I can cycle through my OS's in my boot loader. Then windows starts.. gets to the login screen.. and my keyboard is frozen. The numlock is on (or off if I've turned it off before the login screen appears) and can't be toggled, no response to any keys, etc. I noticed that the KB is fine when the windows loading splash screen is first on, then the KB gets powered off (like normal) as Windows load, it then comes back on for a few secs (num lock can be toggled, etc.) then as soon as it finishes loading and is waiting at the login screen, the KB is locked again. Mouse works fine, KB locked.
Anyone have any input? I've tried 2 different KBs, same for both. I'd like to get my KB working first so I can at least log in to check my graphics card. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
