2 SSD's or just 1?

Hey guy's im building a new system and the first recommendation everyone said was to ditch my WD Raptor's and get a SSD. I've decided to get the Samsung 840 500GB SSD. However my question is should i get 2 or is 1 enough? The SSD is where i will load windows and the video games and etc. I have a old 500GB 7200 RPM HDD that has all my music, movies, and etc would you guys get another SSD just to hold that stuff?

yeah... i don't really understand all that lingo, but doesn't running raid mean that both 500 gb drives are only recognized as 1, however the speed is ridiculous? Sorry please enlighten me. I was just wondering if i can run 1 SSD and a old HDD just for my music, video, etc

I don't think you need more then a 256G SSD. With your Raptors (how many?) and another single WD 500G, I would think a Samsung 128 Pro or STD 840 would be enough, that is providing your MB supports Sata 3 6GB's.

Mechanical HDD's will never saturate Sata 2 in IDE or Raid Mode.

Basically Sata 3 and 6GB/s transfers was engineered for SSD's - NOT Mechanical HDD's.

If you post your Hardware and OS we would not have to guess ;o)
