Well . . . I just turned off my 5.1 TV surround. I can just hear low-level TV/media playing in another room, but can't make out the content. I've got these three machines under my desk -- one asleep, so there wouldn't be anything but two general sources of noise.
I might have a mild case -- very faint -- of tintinitis, or however it's spelled.
So of the remaining two, it seems most of any sound is coming from the server.
And it is very faint. Very faint, indeed . . .
If I had a decibel-meter, I could measure it at different distances. But you have to be within 3' to really hear anything. Now, with gaming, it could seem like -- maybe an AC room vent on a day warm enough to get it to kick on. I never notice it, even with the volume cut to a point of sufficiency for the game.
I tried to record it with my cell-phone while running Prime95, and the playback just seems . . . . without significant sound . . . .
