State police are investigating a Wednesday night confrontation during which shots were fired in a condominium parking lot. It was the first time a South Burlington police officer fired a gun in the line of duty in more than 30 years.

Basically, some idiot in a car with illegal plates ran from cops, crashed his car, then another cop showed up and got out of his car (assuming it was a foot pursuit) and when they drove at the cop he fired two shots into the driver's side door.

Nobody got hurt, I'd say he was well within his rights to defend himself, yet the PD calls the state in to "investigate", because apparantly they have zero clue. I'm so glad I don't live there, I'd hate to think my taxes go to those idiots.

Now figure this:

Vermont has the most lax gun laws in the country. They are the only state to not only allow concealed carry, but they do not even require a permit. Any law abiding citizen with a clean record may carry a weapon.

And they have one of the lowest crime rates in the country.

Further proof that "gun control" outside basic laws forbidding criminals to possess or buy a gun are a joke.

Of course, this doesn't stop the Brady boobs or Handgun Control nut-jobs from being up in arms over Vermont's lax gun laws. Even though Vermont has the lowest gun crime in the country, these idiots seek to force Vermont to pass stricter, gun grabbing laws.
