2 Short Beeps, Heat

Hi, I just built a system based on an MSI K9N motherboard. Everything is working fine, it boots and posts just fine, but it makes 2 short beeps as it is booting. Should I be concerned about this? The only trouble I have ever noticed is that sometimes the CPU temp climbs to ~48 degrees C during heavy gaming. I am having trouble finding what the beeps mean, if anything, and wondering if I should be concerned about the heat. Some of the thermal paste on the CPU cooler got a little smeared... maybe I should reapply?

Thanks,

So... even though everything is still working fine, I should troubleshoot the motherboard and check the memory? I had already found that website and I have no idea what parity circuits are. Could my memory just not be seated right, or is it more likely a bad motherboard. As I said, everything is working fine.

odd, I had an MSI k7n2 or something with a barton 2500 in it...did the same thing, i had to pull the board back when top right wasnt touching the metal....

I have an old laptop with the Phoenix BIOS that beeps twice on boot whenever I leave it unplugged for any amount of time, since the CMOS battery is dead and it's trying to let me know that it's reset some settings to default (which is really annoying, since under the default BIOS settings, a wheel mouse doesn't work properly). Since you have an MSI board, it's probably got a Phoenix BIOS too. I'd reset the CMOS and see if the problem goes away.
