disclaimer: ok, i know this has been covered a bajillion times, so forgive me, but i couldn't seem to find the right combo of words in the search that gave me anything useful.

so i've got the same old problem where the audio cd's i burn have 2 second pauses between tracks. this only happens when i'm making cd's from a playlist, not when i'm just copying a cd. i am burning disc at once, finalizing the disc. what's the option i'm missing here?

When you're adding the tracks to the compilation, select them all and then right-click "properties" and change "pause" to "0 seconds" ... and there ya go. :)

Hrm, that fixes all but the first track, which they pop up an error warning that you can't have a 0 pause on that song change.

CD red book specification requires a 2 second lead-in time to the first track. That initial 2 second pause is require for all CD's to conform to the audio CD specification.

this is in nero express only i believe

also, the 2 seconds is at the beginning of the song, not the end. so the first track will have 2 seconds before it, not between it and the second song

The "Regular" Nero also has the remove silence thing. Select all, right click, properties, somewhere.

yeah my nero has that remove silence at the end of tracks, but like eklass said, the silence is at the beginning of the tracks, not the end. I'll try burning a CD today using the 0 second pause thingy. as for a pause at the beginning, i don't care about that. i just don't like having tracks that are supposed to run together have that annoying break in the middle.
