a few weeks ago i posted the following:
ok the problem im having is whenever i'm connected to AIM or ventrilo i always get disconnected every 1-3 minutes, and i have to manually reconnect and then it will keep booting me every few seconds/minutes...i do NOT have a problem while im browsing the internet or playing video games, i never get disconnected while doing those things...
i contacted comcast and they had me do a traceroute and they determined that by the time i get disconnected from AIM or ventrilo i am already out of their IP...i'm connected through a linksys wireless router, BUT my computer is hooked up to the router through a wire, i have yet to try my connections going directly to the modem....any help would be appreciated

well i tried connecting my computer directly to the modem and i had no problems at all and everything was working fine with no disconnections, but my cousin wants to keep her computer and the other computer in the house on the wireless router, so my question is, Am i able to connect my d-link router into the modem and from the d-link connect my computer and then run the lynksis wireless router off of the d-link? will i have any problems with slow connection? thanks, all help is appreciated!

Yep, just don't use the wan side of the linksys and it turns into just an access point. Make sure it is not acting as a dhcp server. But I'm not sure how this is any different from your original setup.
