Right here goes, my problem was the hg533 router lost wireless throughput very quickly , I'm on 38MB medium package and get between 15-23MB wirelessly if I'm near the router but once I get more than 5 meters away like upstairs in the bedroom I get 0.5MB down but 1.5MB up so hardly lose any of the up throughput from 2MB
I use powerline adapters to the computer and get 37MB, I have another adapter and a hg523a router so thought I could use the powerline adapters to make a wired bridge into the bedroom and use the 2nd router, I got that all working putting the bedroom router into bridge mode and set a different ssid on a different wireless channel
the xbox360 is in the bedroom so i thought I could use the second lan port to use Xbox live but this is where my problem starts because I can't use the wired connection while using the wireless as seems to get in each other's way of receiving the internet signal from the openeach modem which is connected by Ethernet to the hg533 router which then has the powerline adapters to the computer and into my room to the second router into the 1st lan port.
what does port binding do as thought I could bind the 2nd port to the ssid so the signal goes to both at the same time if needed, if xbox360 is turned off so the 2nd port isn't active the wireless signal works normally, I have been rambling but wanted as much info in the thread, any advice is definitely welcome
